The Scenario
Your company hires 50 remote employees across 20 states. Each needs a desk phone at their home office. How do you deploy phones without sending IT technicians to 50 homes?
The Old Way (Competitors)
- Ship phones to corporate office
- IT unpacks and manually configures each phone
- IT ships configured phones to homes
- Employees plug in... phone doesn't work (wrong network)
- IT support calls: "Navigate to Network Settings..."
- 1-2 hours per phone, 50 support calls
Total time: 50-100 hours of IT time
The Vinix Way (Yealink RPS)
- Provision extensions in Vinix portal (5 minutes for all 50)
- Ship Yealink phones DIRECTLY to employee homes
- Employees plug phones into home network
- Phones contact Yealink RPS → redirect to Vinix
- Extensions activate automatically
- Done. Zero support calls.
Total time: 5 minutes of IT time
How Yealink RPS Zero-Touch Works
- Phone Powers On: Yealink phone boots, obtains IP from DHCP (standard home router, no special config needed).
- Phone Contacts Yealink RPS: Phone connects to redirect.yealink.com (Yealink's global RPS network). Provides MAC address. Note: This happens automatically. User does nothing.
- RPS Redirects to Vinix: Yealink RPS looks up MAC address, sees it's registered to Vinix, returns provisioning URL: provisioning.vinixglobal.com. Note: Vinix is registered in Yealink's global partner database. All Vinix-assigned MACs redirect automatically.
- Phone Downloads Vinix Config: Phone contacts provisioning.vinixglobal.com, downloads:
- Extension number and credentials
- SIP server settings
- Firmware version (auto-updated if needed)
- Feature settings (BLF, speed dials, etc.)
- Phone Reboots, Ready to Use: Phone applies configuration, reboots, registers extension with Vinix SIP server. Shows "Ready" on screen. Employee can make/receive calls.
Total time: 90-120 seconds
Works Anywhere in the World
Employee in Tokyo? Sydney? London? Rural Montana with spotty WiFi? Doesn't matter. As long as they have internet, Yealink RPS finds them, redirects to Vinix, and provisions automatically.

Zero-Touch Provisioning FAQ
Do I need to configure my network for zero-touch to work?
No. That's the whole point. Yealink RPS works over the internet—phone contacts Yealink's cloud (redirect.yealink.com), gets redirected to Vinix, provisions. Works on any network with internet access.
What if the employee's network blocks Yealink RPS?
Extremely rare (would require blocking Yealink's cloud entirely), but if it happens, employee can use 6-digit manual provisioning as fallback. Takes 30 seconds.
Does zero-touch work internationally?
Yes. Yealink RPS is a global network. Works in 100+ countries. We've deployed phones to employees in US, Canada, UK, Australia, Singapore, and more—all zero-touch.
Can I use zero-touch with phones I buy elsewhere?
Yes. Buy Yealink phones from Amazon, CDW, or any distributor. Provide us the MAC addresses, we register them in RPS, they auto-provision. Zero-touch works regardless of where you buy phones.
What happens if an employee replaces their phone?
Provide us the new MAC address, we register it, ship phone to employee, auto-provisions with same extension. Takes 5 minutes of IT time.
Does firmware update automatically too?
Yes. Vinix manages Yealink firmware centrally. Phones check for updates nightly, download and install automatically (typically 2-3 AM). Employees wake up to updated phones.

Yealink Hardware FAQ
Do all Yealink phones support zero-touch provisioning?
All current Yealink T-series, W-series, CP-series, and MeetingBar devices support RPS zero-touch provisioning. Legacy models (pre-2018) may require manual provisioning code entry.
Can I buy Yealink phones from a different vendor?
Yes. Buy Yealink phones from Amazon, CDW, Ingram Micro, or any authorized distributor. Provide us the MAC addresses and we'll register them in Yealink RPS for zero-touch provisioning.
What firmware version do phones ship with?
Phones ship with the manufacturer's default firmware. During zero-touch provisioning, Vinix automatically updates the phone to the latest tested firmware version. No manual firmware updates needed.
How do you support remote employees?
That's our specialty. Ship the phone to any address. Employee plugs it into any network with internet. Phone auto-provisions via Yealink RPS. Zero IT visits, zero VPN required, zero DHCP configuration.
Do Yealink phones support expansion modules?
Yes. The T54W and T58A support Yealink EXP50 color expansion modules (up to 3 per phone, adding 60 programmable BLF keys). Great for receptionists and power users.
What's the warranty on Yealink phones?
Yealink provides a standard 2-year manufacturer warranty on all devices. Defective units go directly to Yealink for replacement. Vinix handles all provisioning and configuration support.
Can I mix Yealink with other phone brands?
Vinix supports multiple brands (Poly, Grandstream, Cisco). However, for the best zero-touch experience, we recommend standardizing on Yealink—their RPS integration with Vinix is the most seamless.
How do I move a phone to a different extension?
Update the assignment in the Vinix portal. Trigger a remote reprovision (or wait for the phone's next check-in). Phone downloads new config and registers the new extension automatically.
What happens if internet goes down?
The phone retains its last provisioned configuration. Calls won't work without internet (it's a cloud phone system), but the phone doesn't lose its settings. When internet returns, it reconnects automatically.
Do phones work with PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
Yes. All Yealink desk phones support IEEE 802.3af PoE. Connect one Ethernet cable for both power and data. AC adapters are included for networks without PoE switches.
Can I configure BLF (Busy Lamp Field) keys?
Yes. BLF keys are configured through the Vinix portal and pushed to phones via provisioning. Monitor colleague availability, speed dial, park/pickup—all configurable per-user.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No minimum. Order 1 phone or 1,000. Volume discounts are available for orders of 10+ units. Contact hardware@vinixglobal.com for pricing.
